If you are devoted to the mission of CIDQ and are ready to take the next step to advancing the leadership of our organization, please complete the application found below and submit it to Kayla Karpp at kkarpp@cidq.org by Sunday, May 11, 2025.
The Nominating Committee has prioritized candidates to fill the following roles: emerging professionals, educators, and diverse candidates from different geographical locations, and other notable qualities based on the current needs of the organization. All interested candidates will be vetted by the Nominating Committee and final interviews will be conducted via video on SATURDAY, JUNE 7, 2025.
Service on the CIDQ Board of Directors is done on a volunteer basis. Dedication of approximately 5-10 hours a month is required to do the work of CIDQ and the NCIDQ Exam (more for months when face-to-face board meetings are scheduled). The President Elect position will include more time per month. There are four (4) in-person meetings per year. Three (3) meetings are typically held in Alexandria, VA, as well as other locations throughout the US and Canada. The fourth meeting occurs at the conclusion of the Annual Meeting, which will be held in November 2026. CIDQ will reimburse for travel costs related to meeting attendance. There are eight (8) other monthly meetings conducted via video conference call; calls are one hour in length. Attendance is also required at this year’s Annual Meeting in Denver, CO on November 6-9, 2025 (see application for further time commitment details).
The CIDQ board comprises seven (7) NCIDQ Certified interior designers, and one (1) Public Member (who is not an interior designer) to serve as the voice of the public. The board is the leadership body that sets CIDQ’s strategic direction. With legal accountability and fiduciary responsibility for CIDQ, the board’s purpose is to establish the goals for the organization and ensure that it has the necessary human and financial resources to achieve them.
Before applying, please carefully review the eligibility requirements below. If you are not sure whether you are eligible or have any additional questions, please contact Kayla Karpp at kkarpp@cidq.org.
